چکیده
This study was aimed at assessing the antidiabetic and hepatoprotective effects of combined aqueous leaf extract Azadirachta indica Mangifera in alloxan monohydrate-induced diabetic Wistar rats. Fresh leaves were prepared using distilled water appropriate stock concentrations used a 14-day treatment. Acute toxicity studies conducted rats showed no up to 5000mg/kg. Experimental animals acclimatized for 14 days while diabetes induced monohydrate (150mg/kg) intraperitoneally. After treatment with 300mg/kg, 500mg/kg 700mg/kg respectively as well 150mg/kg metformin, there increase weight, blood glucose levels decreased significantly (p<0.05) whenc compared untreated (diabetic control). Also, significant p<0.05) reduction serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine (ALT) alkaline phosphatase (ALP) treated different doses control. A dose dependent hepatoprotecitve effect observed had close similar standard drug metformin. Therefore, exhibit this is due presence phytochemical constituents part plants. Effect of Azadirachta indica (Neem) leaf aqueous extract on paracetamol-induced liver damage in rats.
The effect of aqueous leaf extract of Azadirachta indica (A. indica) was evaluated in paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Liver necrosis was produced by administering single dose of paracetamol (2 g/kg, p.o.). The liver damage was evidenced by elevated levels of serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), gamma glutamyl transpeptidase (gamma-GT) and by histop...
